GI Joe Meme

Yay! I found a Joe meme! I'm a total dork for memes... and for GI Joe!

1) Tunnel Rat became my instant fave when I started watching Renegades. But I decided that I liked Lifeline before I got into GI Joe at all, because of-- no joke-- a Cracked online article about the GI Joes most likely to get left in the packaging. It said no one would want to play with a pacifist GI Joe, and being a pacifist, I was like 'dude, I would! Why don't I have any staunchly pacifistic action figures?'.

2) Can't think of anyone I can't stand, though throughout Renegades, there have been moments where Ripcord came a little close... but never hated him. So I drew a derpy Serpentor, because man, cartoon writers in the eighties were on crack, right? And because I felt like it. Clearly I've never drawn him before.

3) There are so many pairings I like. I'm totally in love with Destro/Baroness, because evil is sexy. And they're kind of cute together. In an evil way. I like Flint and Lady Jaye. I like Scarlett and Snake Eyes. I was a bit surprised at how much I really liked all the canon/sometimes-canon het pairings, since I am frequently a slash fangirl.

Which brings me to my OTP, the very un-canon (but the writers have been kind to me anyway) RoadRat.

4) I love Renegades so much it's ridiculous. And, as I say up there, it's what got me into all of it. Being a pacifist, raised Quaker, it's not like my parents ever put on a cartoon about military guys and guns on for me, and I wouldn't have been interested in it at the time.

Which is probably why, in getting into the greater Joe-verse, I tend to favour comics canon over ARAH canon if there's a difference. That plus personal preference is why I like Scarlett with Snake Eyes instead of with Duke, I guess.

And I drew Trailer Trash Babymama!Scarlett, because was that not the best part of 'Busted'? It gets shrugged off as a filler episode, but nobody I've talked to has been able to totally hate on it if only for Scarlett's epically hilarious disguise there.

5) I'm going to say he rescued this kitten in a sewer line somewhere. Rescue kittens are my quickest 'aww' button. He clearly doesn't know what he's going to do with it...

6) Since my 'cute' moment was TR, my chibi will be Lifeline.

Chibi Lifeline rides around on Beachhead's shoulder and tries to give him nonviolent solutions to his problems. When he gets fed up with that, Beachhead sticks Chibi Lifeline into his pocket where he can't hear him.

Then they go back to the Pit, and he puts him on a shelf with a little matchbox bed and, like, a chair and table that somebody made out of odds/ends.

He's not a very efficient medic, but the mental images that accompanied my drawing this make me grin.
